International Day of the Disappeared: In cooperation with NGO Center Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor organize the airing of the film “Hope Dies Last” and a thematic discussion on 1st of September.
Vanadzor (HCAV) – As a contribution to the International Day of the Disappeared on 30th of August which is honored to draw attention to the fate of victims of enforced disappearance HCAV and NGO Center Vanadzor will present the film “Hope Dies Last” about missing persons of the Karabakh war. “Hope Dies Last” was made with the support of Interchurch Peace Council (IKV, the Netherlands) by Suzanne Kroeger in 2004.
According to the United Nations by 2012, worldwide there are 53,778 cases of enforced disappearance. In Armenia about 213 cases of missing soldiers are reported. The situation with missing persons is still urgent in Armenia, because of the lack of legal mechanisms and legislative support for solving their problems and for the protection of the rights and interests of their family members.
NGO Center Vanadzor and Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly – Vanadzor invite everyone to the airing of the film “Hope Dies Last” on the 1st of September 2013 at the NGO Center.
