Summary of inquiries regarding the membership of the Republic of Armenia in the Customs Union, September 23-28, 2013
08:30, October 1, 2013 | NewsBy summarizing the replies received from the RA National Assembly within the last week, certain conclusions can be drawn.
Hence, those deputies from the RA NA “Republican” faction, who replied to the inquiry regarding the membership to the Customs Union, expressed their positive disposition. The deputies of “Prosperous Armenia” faction didn’t yet unanimously eexpress their disposition, since they were unaware of the membership documents.
A group of legislative body representatives merely attached references to their public speeches and “facebook” notes instead of replying. However, judging from the study of those sources, it quite difficult to have any picture regarding their dispositions. By summarizing, we have the following image:
17 out of the deputies replied to the inquiry of HCA Vanadzor. 8 out of the deputies were for the RA’s membership in the Customs Union, 5 were against it and 4 either didn’t express a disposition or didn’t have one or gave an ambiguous answer. 8 deputies that expressed a positive disposition belong to the “Republican” faction.
From out of 5 deputies that were against the membership, 2 were from “Heritage” party, 1 from “Republican” and 1 from “Prosperous Armenia” factions. Khachatur Qoqobelyan, Chairman of Free Democrats party was also against it. 2 deputies from “Prosperous Armenia” faction Vahan Babayan and Tigran Urikhanyan refrained from expressing a disposition.
Ambiguous answers were given by two deputies, each from “Republican” and “Heritage” factions.
