‘Founding Parliament’ supporter Hovhannes Ghazaryan released
10:59, February 14, 2017 | News, Own news | Sasna TsrerToday, on February 13, 2017, the RA Court of Criminal Appeals upheld the appeal of ‘Founding Parliament’ supporter Hovhannes Ghazaryan’s defense counsel Ani Chatinyan, lawyer at HCA Vanadzor, and reversed the ruling of the General Jurisdiction Court of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun Administrative Districts of Yerevan city, RA, of January 23, 2017 on extending Hovhannes Ghazaryan’s detention period for another 2 months.
The Court of Appeals ruled to “annul detention chosen as a preventive measure against Hovhannes Ghazaryan and release him from custody in the courtroom.”
Note that he was charged under Article 225 of the RA Criminal Code, namely using violence by mass riot participants during mass riots […], armed resistance to a representative of the authorities.
