Lori TV editor-in-chief Narine Avetisyan’s representatives have applied to the Court with the claim to receive a copy of the expert conclusion

On October 23, 2017 the body conducting the proceedings refused to provide Lori TV editor-in-chief/journalist Narine Avetisyan’s representatives with a copy of the conclusion of the forensic examination.
Receiving a copy is one of the possible ways of familiarizing oneself with the expert conclusion and the aggrieved party has the right to it under the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RA.
It should be reminded that on September 28, 2017 on the bridge adjacent to the Church of the Holy Mother of God in Vanadzor, Narine Avetisyan’s professional journalistic activity was hindered through use of violence when she attempted to shoot the asphalt paving works that were being conducted in the pouring rain.
Within the framework of the criminal case launched on the same day, HCA Vanadzor Chairman Artur Sakunts and HCA Vanadzor advocate Syuzanna Soghomonyan were recognized as the representatives of the Aggrieved Party and filed a number of petitions to the body conducting the proceedings.
On October 23, 2017 the Aggrieved Party got acquainted with the conclusions of the forensic examination assigned within the framework of the criminal case. However, the body conducting the proceedings, having interpreted the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RA in its own way, refused to provide a copy of the expert conclusion to the Aggrieved Party. With this, the latter was deprived of the opportunity to study the conclusion scrupulously and submit necessary petitions, and was therefore, subjected to unequal conditions.
The appeal of the Aggrieved Party on these grounds was rejected by Deputy Prosecutor of Lori Province G. Manukyan. The Aggrieved Party applied to the Court.
The first hearing that was supposed to take place yesterday before the Court of General Jurisdiction of Lori Province was adjourned as petitioned by Deputy Prosecutor G. Manukyan. The latter is on vacation and requested to examine the appeal as soon as his vacations end.
The next hearing was scheduled for 12.30 pm on December 11, 2017.
