Long-term observers representing ‘Independent Observer’ Public Alliance received training

On March 1-3, 2017, HCA Vanadzor held trainings for long-term observers of the ‘Independent Observer’ Alliance with the support of Open Society Foundations-Armenia and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. They will observe the campaign of the RA NA elections to be held on April 2, 2017 and the activities of the campaign headquarters and polling station commissions.
The observation mission aims to assess provision of equal conditions for the parties and blocs during the campaign and promote democratization of election processes through revealing and presenting the activities of the campaign participants and the obstacles encountered during such activities.
The training was facilitated by Artur Sakunts, Chairman of HCA Vanadzor, and sociologist Ruben Sargsyan. The trainers presented the structure of the observation mission, the progress of the election campaign and related legislative regulations.
Later, the Organization plans to hold trainings for short-term observers representing the ‘Independent Observer’ Alliance.
