Military commanders illegally decided to organize the soldier’s service in non-standard boots (video)
13:15, October 6, 2016 | News, Own news | Rights of Soldiers/Recruits | Armed ForcesHelsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor carries on protecting serviceman Razmik Petrosyan’s rights.
He has been in military service for over a year, but after being drafted into the RA Armed Forces spent most of his service time in military hospitals unable to do his military service because of the swelling and corns on his feet.
The Organization took all the possible measures, going as far as challenging the decision of the RA Central Military and Medical Commission of March 3, 2016 on declaring R. Petrosyan fit for military service made on its next-in-turn hearing; accordingly, upon reviewing the decision of July 25, 2016 on declaring R. Petrosyan fit for military service, the Commission concluded that it was impossible to organize his service in standard boots and he would be allowed as an exception to wear non-standard boots.
It should be added that no criminal proceedings were initiated on HCA Vanadzor’s crime report on the illegal decision of the military unit commanders on organizing his service in non-standard boots, in spite of the fact that the decision was illegal as there was no relevant legal act to regulate the issue on further military service of a serviceman unable to wear standard boots.
The investigator’s decision on rejecting initiation of criminal proceedings was first appealed to higher authorities and then to a court of law.
The examination of the appeal is scheduled for October 7, 2016, at 2 pm at the General Jurisdiction Court of Lori marz (region).
