Good news for the relatives of 9 servicemen deemed missing by their parents
21:51, April 13, 2016 | News, Other news | Rights of Soldiers/Recruits, The Rights of Conflict Victims | Armed ForcesRelatives of 10 soldiers applied to HCA Vanadzor in the recent days stating that they had no news from their sons after April 2 military hostilities. Today addressing this fact, RA MoD press secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan stated that some soldiers cannot and also must not contact their family members these days via mobile phones.
A short while ago we had a talk with HCAV Coordinator of Peace-building Department Armine Sadikyan, who informed us that she got the same news from the MoD, specifying that all the soldiers, with the exception of Argishti Kaboyan, were in normal state and that, “They are all alive and have no injuries, they are simply from the same battalion of “Yeghnikner”, they simply have no connection to contact their relatives. Parents, relatives of servicemen had been turning to us for information, therefore, we considered them as missing persons, since their parents thought them missing for more than 10 days”, stated Mss. Sadikyan. Thus, about 10 days the fates of 9 servicemen remained unknown for their parents, moreover, these soldiers are not officially deemed missing, while the MoD does not keep the parents updated. Only this uproar caused the Ministry of Defense to finally provide some vague information to the parents who had been suffering for 10 days in succession.
