“There’s no commission as there’s no doctor and we don’t know when there will be any”; persons with disabilities from Vanadzor have not got their benefits for already 2 months
09:14, March 24, 2017 | News, Own news | Social RightsToday, on March 23, 2017, A. Gh. from Vanadzor consulted HCA Vanadzor and said that as a result of medical and social expert examination, the previous year he was declared a person with disabilities for 1 year and consequently, disability benefit was awarded. February 26, 2017 was assigned as the date for the next-in-turn medical and social expert examination. To undergo a next-in-turn examination within the prescribed term, A. Gh. applied to Vanadzor territorial division of the State Social Security Service, RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and received a refusal. According to the citizen, the territorial division staff gave the pretext below: “There’s no commission as there’s no doctor and we don’t know when there will be any”.
When talking to us, A. Gh. said that dozens of persons with disabilities found themselves in a similar situation; they all have not received disability benefits for 2 months and it is not clear when a medical and social expert examination is assigned.
