4 villages in Lori marz (region) use the services of one medical center; the ambulance reaches to their help from Vanadzor
15:45, September 27, 2016 | News, Own news | March 1M. Ghumashyan from Margahovit village in Lori marz (region) consulted HCA Vanadzor and said that the ambulance car of their village had not been in use for over 6 months without any grounds and the ambulance cars from Vanadzor could not reach them in a short time, which led to tragic consequences.
M. Ghumashyan mentioned the recent accident that occurred near the village when the 2 injured young people died due to the delayed arrival of the ambulance. According to witnesses, the ambulance arrived to the scene only about half an hour later.
M. Ghumashyan also raised the issue in his interview to ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ news website where he alerted another problem as well; Margahovit, Lermontovo, Fioletovo and Antarashen villages with a total population of 5000, located at a distance of about 25 km from marz (region) center Vanadzor, received medical services by 1 medical center and also noted that it was in a poor condition.
In this regard, HCA Vanadzor applied to the RA Ministry of Health to take measures to protect the life and health of the population of those villages. The Ministry readdressed the letter to the RA Lori Regional Government Office (marzpeteran).
According to the Regional Government Office of Lori, in spite of the fact that the medical center in Margahovit has the necessary working conditions and the population of the neighboring villages receives medical care also through home visits till 6 pm, anyway, the Center lacks relevant resources to provide round the clock emergency care and such care is provided by the relevant service of Vanadzor Medical Center.
The Regional Government Office adds that this way the population has the opportunity to enjoy better quality medical care.
As for the ‘Gazel’ vehicle available on the balance of Margahovit Medical Center, according to the letter of the Regional Governor’s Office, it is no longer subject to exploitation.
