Trial examination of the case on causing Gevorg Khachatryan to commit suicide continues

Ohanyan, carried on examination of the criminal case on charges against Harutyun Muradyan under Article 359(2)(2), Article 364.1(1) on 2 episodes and Article 359(3) of the RA Criminal Code, against Mher Voskanyan under Article 364.1(2), Article 375(1) and Article 360(2) of the RA Criminal Code and against Hovik Kalashyan under Article 364.1(1) and Article 375(1) of the RA Criminal Code.
The court hearing was attended by defendants H. Muradyan and M. Voskanyan, their defense attorney Karen Barseghyan, H. Muradyan’s defense attorney Seda Safaryan, defendant H. Kalashyan and his defense attorney Ruben Ghazaryan, prosecutor Sergey Khachatryan, victim’s successor Hasmik Avetisyan, her representative Tatevik Siradeghyan, lawyer at Yerevan office of HCA Vanadzor, as well as victims Hayk Hayrapetyan and Arsen Antonyan.
At the court hearing, the Court carried on disclosing victim A. Antonyan’s testimonies given during the preliminary investigation. Then he said that the statement on mutual jocks was true but in response to the questions, he noted that G. Khachatryan made only one jock with H. Muradyan and he mentioned that in his testimonies. The witness also said that after the confrontation he testified again at his own initiative realizing that he had given a false testimony. He said that the testimonies given during the preliminary investigation were true.
At the court hearing, the Court also questioned victim H. Hayrapetyan and witness Arman Karapetyan. During their questioning, they also provided information contradicting their testimonies on the incidents they gave during the preliminary investigation. Upon the prosecutor’s motion, their testimonies were disclosed. As a justification, H. Hayrapetyan and A. Karapetyan stated that during the preliminary investigation they wrote their testimonies by the guidance of the investigator and after the confrontation again insisted on their previous testimonies but the investigator guided them to write that way and insisted that otherwise they might face criminal liability for false testimony.
The court hearing was postponed due to the end of the working day. The next court hearing on this case will be held on July 13, 2017, at 11 am. At the next hearing, the Court will continue to question the witnesses.
