Discussions within the framework of the project “Implementation of call-up monitoring”
00:00, June 13, 2009 | News | Rights of Soldiers/RecruitsOn June 11, 2009 HCA Vanadzor organized a discussion for the monitors of Taush region in Ijevan within the framework of the project ”Implementation of call-up monitoring” supported by OSCE Yerevan office.
The project staff, the representative of OSCE Yerevan office, the monitors of Taush region participated in the discussion. The goal of the discussion was to reveal the problems arisen during the monitoring, to discuss the ways of solution and supervise the process of monitoring.
Each participant presented his/her observations, impressions about call-up in Dilijan, Ijevan, Noyemberyan and Berd. In particular, they underlined that there had been some constraint among the recruits, the returned soldiers and their relatives in the towns of Taush region and neigbouring villages, in particular the recruits were ashamed of speaking about their health problems, but the mothers were more sincere in this respect. And as for the attitude, they mentioned that the employees of the military commissariats were polite towards both the monitors and the recruits and their relatives.
The participants of the monitoring underlined the lack of the level of legal awareness among the recruits and their relatives and they suggested informing the recruits about their rights and obligations before each recruitment.
