The expert in the case of the deceased serviceman reinstated his position; the cardiologist could have foreseen the death outcome

On July 13, 2018, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor Regions heard G. Harutyunyan, the expert in the case of serviceman Suren Mosiyan’s death.
S. Mosinyan died on May 29, 2016; while performing military service, his health deteriorated, and he passed away on the way to hospital.
Seda Tadevosyan, the cardiologist of the territorial conscription commission in Artashat, is accused of causing his death.
The experts concluded that the cardiologist could have foreseen the possible negative consequences of not treating the given disease, including death. She should have referred the serviceman for other examinations upon identifying the issue, which she did not do.
It should be noted that some of the doctors of the conscription commission mentioned before the Court that Suren Mosiyan’s heart rate of 110 was not considered to be a deviation from the norm. The other doctors maintained the opposite.
At the Court, G. Harutyunyan reinstated the position expressed in the expertise conclusions. He mentioned that in the case of such data identified during the preliminary research, he should have been referred for other examinations.
After questioning the expert, the Court scheduled the next court session for 2.00 pm on August 17, 2018.
