The NA Adopted the draft on making amendments and addenda to RA law on “Psychiatric Care” by the second reading
09:19, June 10, 2013 | Press Release | Rights of PatientsOn April 30, 2013 the National Assembly by the second reading and fully adopted the drafts on making amendments and addenda to the RA laws on “Psychiatric Care” and “Advocacy”.
It is worth noting that the legislative recommendations had been submitted by Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor. Ara Babloyan, Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood and D. Harutyunyan, Chairman of RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs also came up with legislative initiatives.
The new law will provide for the rights of persons, who receive treatment and/or care at psychiatric establishments, to enjoy free legal assistance by specialized advocates (from Chamber of Advocates of Public Defender’s Office).
