The witnesses in the case on a postpartum woman from Vanadzor are to be brought before the Court
18:45, July 25, 2018 | News, Own newsToday, on July 25, 2018, another court session on the death of a postpartum woman from Vanadzor was set to be held at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Lori Region.
It should be recalled that David Shahverdyan, senior obstetrician-gynecologist at Vanadzor Medical Center, is accused of causing the postpartum woman’s death. A charge was brought against him under Article 130 § 2 of the Criminal Code of the RA for failure to implement/improper implementation of professional duties, which caused the patient’s death.
HCA Vanadzor advocate Ani Chatinyan represents the interests of the victim’s legal successor before the Court.
At the preceding court session, the Court heard the victim’s legal successor and one of the witnesses. The questioning of the witnesses was supposed to continue at this court session; however, some of the witnesses had not received summons, while some had received them but had not showed up at the Court. The Court ruled an enforced appearance of the latter and ruled to summon the others again.
A. Voskanyan, David Shahverdyan’s defender, had not showed up for the court session either. He had notified in a phone call that he was in Yerevan due to his health issues. As to D. Shahverdyan, he did not want to continue the court session without his defender.
Due to the aforementioned circumstances, the Court decided to adjourn the session and to reschedule it for 2.00 pm on September 5, 2018.
