Vanadzor-Khimprom Chemical Plant Staff Resumed Struggle
Today, on September 7, at about 10 am, the HCA Vanadzor received an alarm call that the Vanadzor-Khimprom chemical plant staff were trying to block the Vanadzor-Alaverdi interstate highway demanding their salaries, and there was a risk that the police might use violence.
«Komunsrev» firm does not pay salaries of the employees
3 citizens referred to HCA Vanadzor office with a request to protect their rights and informed that their salaries have not been paid for several months. The citizens informed that it has been a couple of months «Komnsrev» firm does not pay their salaries.
“Vanadzor law clinic” project
Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor and “Populex” advocates’ office are implementing “Vanadzor law clinic” project with the support of American Bar Association (ABA).
The goal of the project is to improve the professional capacities of young lawyers in the field of rendering legal consultations and conducting litigations.

On August 22, 2011, the Lori Region Court of Common Jurisdiction, presided by Judge N. Avetisyan, satisfied the claim of surgeon Norik Melikyan against “#1 Vanadzor Hospital Complex” CJSC.

On August 8, 2011, Lori Region Court of General Jurisdiction continued hearing the trial of surgeon Norik Melikyan’s case against “#1 Vanadzor Hospital Complex” CJSC.
Surgeon with 40 years of experience has sued the hospital: “If this issue is not solved, we will emigrate”
Norik Melikyan, a surgeon from Vanadzor, insists that he has been illegally dismissed from his job which has put his family of seven in tight situation.
