Examination of Police claim against Hovhannes Ghazaryan postponed
On November 30, 2016, a pre-trial court hearing on RA Police v. Hovhannes Ghazaryan was scheduled at the RA Administrative Court, presided by judge L. Hakobyan. Note that by its claim submitted to the Court, the RA Police demanded to bring H. Ghazaryan to administrative responsibility under Article 180.1 (11 and 15) of the RA Code of Administrative Offences.
Former member of the Founding Parliament Hovhannes Ghazaryan refused to appeal to ECtHR
As reported before, on February 23, 2016 the RA Cassation Court refused to admit the appeal on the search of the apartment and office possessed by Hovhannes Ghazaryan, former Lori Marz (region) Coordinator of the Founding Parliament, and his illegal apprehension in April 2015 within the political persecution against him.
Volodya Avetisyan’s son was apprehended
Today, at 9 am, the police visited the house of imprisoned freedom-fighter Volodya Avetisyan in Ptghunk village of Ejmiadzin region and apprehended to the Vagharshapat Division of the Police his son Norayr Avetisyan, former member of the Founding Parliament. Today, Founding Parliament members Hovhannes Ghazaryan and Hasmik Evoyan alerted HCA Vanadzor that they were apprehended to Bazum Police Division of Vanadzor.
RA Constitutional Court admitted application of Varuzhan Avetisyan, Founding Parliament Member
On January 29, 2016, Varuzhan Avetisyan, a Founding Parliament member, submitted a notification to the Municipality of Yerevan of the assembly and march to be held on February 26.
Appeal on Founding Parliament Member Hovhannes Ghazaryan’s Case submitted to Cassation Court
As already reported, on April 7, 2015, Founding Parliament Member (Lori Marz (Region) Coordinator) Hovhannes Ghazaryan’s apartment and office were searched, and afterwards he was apprehended as a witness to the RA High-Profile Cases Investigation Department without any factual and legal grounds and kept there 11 hours.
On the same day, other members of the Founding Parliament also underwent similar searches, and this suggests that the persons above, including Hovhannes Ghazaryan suffered political persecution.
