Kostanyan is ex officio responsible: Sakunts suggested summoning R. Kocharyan and S. Sargsyan for interrogation over March 1 case
13:18, October 19, 2013 | News | Right to Fair TrialChairman of HCA Vanadzor office Artur Sakunts submitted a written recommendation to the RA Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan, where he mentioned that it was necessary to interrogate all of the high-rank officials of the time in order to reveal March 1, 2008 and indentify the real perpetrators of the 10 victims’ murder.
“The urgency to undertake measures directed at the revelation of March 1 crime is meant as well as all of the officials, who were the decision-makers back then and their list is meant. If they committed it… and yes, they did it and they should be interrogated. I am recommending an ideal procedure to be applied by them”.
A. Sakunts has sent another similar written recommendation to the SIS and the first and the second presidents of the RA are also included in the list of those to be interrogated. Ա.
“Everybody’s names are mentioned. Everyone, including the Police Chief, NSS Chief, along with Kocharyan and Sargsyan should be interrogated….
I have applied in a written form and naturally they are going to reply in writing, I have submitted my recommendations and demands, and of course they are obliged to answer me.
Whether the March 1 case newly begins or is resumed, Kostanyan must implement those investigative actions that are objectively based on the logic of revealing the March 1 crime. Because the armed forces, police forces, persecutions, arrests, violence, all this took place during the office years of those people”.
To the question of GALA, how realistic it was to summon Serzh Sargsyan for interrogation by the person appointed by him, Artur Sakunts replied,
“I understand one thing that yes he might be appointed by the same people, but here the issue concerns the constitutional norm, supremacy of law and rule of law. If he claims he is not a political agent, so, he must try to act through that approach.
My demand is quite in line with the logic of legal procedures, let them reply to us, after which we are going to apply to the Court and judicial procedures will commence…”
