HCA Vanadzor’s assessments of RA Draft Law on Human Rights Defender

HCA Vanadzor presented its assessment of the Draft Law stating that the RA Draft Law on Human Rights Defender:
– creates a monopoly position for the Human Rights Defender’s institute in the field of human rights protection;
– restricts the effective and cooperative involvement of the civil society, NGOs and experts in the national human rights mechanism;
– takes a discriminatory and differentiated approach to the commitments under the international human rights conventions ratified by RA;
– threatens the development of the national human rights mechanisms.
