The court trial over Advocate Samvel Sharbatyan’s murder case continues

On October 22, 2013 the subsequent court trial was held, where the Court examined the motion submitted by Samvel Diloyan and Artak Veranyan’s defense attorney Ruben Hakobyan regarding challenging against Prosecutor Ashot Grigoryan on the grounds of conducting improper investigation.
Although the victim’s legal successor Satik Sargsyan petitioned to the Court to put off the court trial, since her representative Artur Sakunts could not attend the court session due to valid reasons and she alone could not present her interests, the Court decided to examine the motion over the challenge addressed to the Prosecutor.
By continuing the court hearing the Court gave the word to Prosecutor Ashot Grigoryan to provide explanation over the challenge addressed to him. The Prosecutor noted that the expressions voice in his address by the Defense Attorney failed to describe his actions in the given situation, the word “alert” in his address should be stated without quotes since he was really alert for the just conclusion of this issue. The Prosecutor also noted that conducting confrontation in that phase of the trial was meaningless, since the witnesses could have agreed upon their testimonies during those several months.
After Ruben Hakobyan’s objection, the Court left the courtroom to make a decision regarding the motion. The court trial was put off until 14:00 of the same day.
At 14:00 pm the Court promulgated the decision to decline the motion of challenge addressed to the Prosecutor.
After the promulgation of the decision, nonetheless, the Court decided to cancel the court hearing by satisfying the motion of the victim’s legal successor on the grounds that the latter could not present her interests without her representative Artur Sakunts, besides, Satik Sargsyan asked for reasonable time to enroll a second representative so that the latter has time to get acquainted with the case materials.
The next court hearing was scheduled for November 5, where the motion submitted by the victim’s legal successor would be tried.
It is worth noting that the number of people gathered in the courtroom exceeded the allowed norm and the court bailiffs let those people in without examination. The majority of present people were under the influence of alcohol and were wearing sports uniforms, which contradicts the defined norms.
