Prosecutor on young Lia Misakyan’s case did not attend the court hearing
17:28, April 4, 2017 | News, Own news | Children's rights, Right to LifeOn April 3, 2017, the General Jurisdiction Court of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts of Yerevan, RA, had a scheduled next-in-turn court hearing under the examination of Lia Misakyan’s death.
The court hearing was attended by defendants L. Vardanyan and Z. Ayvazyan charged under Article 130(2) of the RA Criminal Code, the latter’s defense counsel Yerem Sargsyan, victim 2-year-and-3-month-old Lia Misakyan’s successor Georgi Misakyan and his representative Tatevik Siradeghyan, lawyer at Yerevan Office of HCA Vanadzor.
Prosecutor Mnatsakan Shahgaldyan and L. Vardanyan’s defense counsel Givi Hovhannisyan did not attend the hearing.
The presiding judge said that the prosecutor was absent due to an incident and given his absence, postponed the court hearing till April 27, 2017, 11:30 am.
Note that after the RA Cassation Court reversed the judicial acts of the lower courts based on the aggrieved party’s application, the case was sent to the General Jurisdiction Court of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts of Yerevan, RA, for re-examination on the part of assigning an additional sanction, but the court hearings are regularly postponed due to the absence of the parties to trial.
