The ruling to keep detained Vl. Khandamiryan accused of murder to be appealed before the Cassation Court

On May 25, 2017 after examining the appeal of Arayik Zalyan, defense counsel of Vl. Khandamiryan and lawyer at HCA Vanadzor, the RA Court of Appeals rejected it. Vl. Khandamiryan will remain in detention.
Note that by his appeal to the RA Court of Appeals, A. Zalyan demanded that Vl. Khandamiryan was released from detention or that detention was replaced by a bail of 1.000.000 AMD.
In support of his appeal, the defense counsel referred to the fact that when ruling on detention, the first instance court took no notice of a number of important factors and did not examine most of the evidence invoked by the court as supporting the suspicion on V. Khandamiryan’s involvement in the offence. The defense party had no possibility even to access the evidence and express a position.
The court ruling on keeping Vl. Khandamiryan in detention will be also appealed before the Cassation Court.
