Press Release On 4th court hearing of Avetisyans family murder case
21:57, February 8, 2016 | Press Release | Avetisyan familyOn January 29, 2016, the General Jurisdiction Court of Shirak Marz (Region), presided by judge H. Movsesyan, held the 4th outgoing hearing on the Avetisyans family murder case on the territory of the Russian military base № 102.
At the hearing of January 29, 2016, the Court intended to question, among others, successors to the victims and witnesses Lusine Avetisyan, Anahit Koshtoyan and Yegor Adamyan. However, due to poor health, they refused to testify and requested the Court to disclose their testimonies provided during preliminary investigation.
As for Karine Hovhannisyan, Avetisyans’ immediate neighbor, her testimonies provided at the court hearing differed from those provided during the preliminary investigation.
The witness said that she learned about the incident at her workplace. She also mentioned in her testimony that the laundry in Avetisyans’ yard made it impossible to make out whether the glass on their front door was broken or not.
The Court also questioned Ruzanna Hakobyan who works in a shop near Avetisyans’ house and nurse Gayane Melkonyan who arrived by ambulance to the scene.
The questioning of A. Danchin, Russian Military Base company commander, lasted 1,5 hours. In response to the attorneys’ question on the criteria a serviceman had to meet to serve at the Russian military base in Gyumri, A. Danchin stated that such a serviceman must not be registered with neuropsychiatric dispensary, and neither he, nor his family must have any criminal records. The witness also stated that V. Permyakov’s compliance with the criteria above was verified by the Military Commission of Chita wherefrom he was conscripted into military service.
Permyakov’s personal data show that in fact, he did not meet the criteria above.
According to the witness testimony, they learnt about V. Permyakov’s desertion on January 12, 2015, at 3 am.
The lawyers also attempted to find out whether the people searching for Permyakov were armed, and the witness gave a negative answer.
According to presiding judge H. Movsesyan, 6 servicemen of the Russian military base № 102 acting as witnesses in the case, had already been discharged and could not attend the court hearings.
