15:17, July 21, 2016 | News, Other news“Violence is never an acceptable way to bring political change to Armenia. We are monitoring the situation closely, primarily because it is one of the U.S. embassy’s first duties to inform American citizens about the safety and security in the city”, Richard Mills, US ambassador to Armenia said in his interview to ‘A1+’ and ‘Azatutyun’ (‘Liberty’).
According to Mr. Ambassador, they continue to advice American citizens to stay away from Erebuni at this time until the situation is resolved.
While Richard Mill monitors the situation, he has not been in direct contact with Armenian authorities since Sunday. Yesterday, a question on this crisis was asked at the US State Department as well.
“We urged the Government to handle the situation with professionalism and restraint. Now is the time for all Armenians to respect the rule of law, so this situation can be brought to a peaceful end, which I believe is what all Armenians want,” he added.
