HCA Vanadzor staff and experts participated in a EHRAC webinar: Protecting Women’s Human Rights
15:41, May 27, 2015 | News, Own newsOn March 1, 2015, the HCA Vanadzor and the European Human Rights Advocacy Centre (EHRAC) launched a joint project Protecting and Promoting Human Rights Defenders in Russia, Georgia, Armenia and Ukraine funded by the European Commission.
The Project partner organizations include as follows: European Human Rights Advocacy Center, Memorial Human Rights Center, Georgian Young Lawyers Association, Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor and Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union.
The joint project aims to protect human rights and promote human rights defenders in Armenia, Russia, Georgia and Ukraine.
The organizations engaged in the Project aim to consolidate their efforts to ensure the rights enshrined in the European Convention on Human Rights. The Project envisages a number of actions, namely, strategic litigations in the European Court of Human Rights, advocacy for execution of the ECtHR judgments, awareness-raising on the human rights situation and capacity building among lawyers in the region.
On April 29, 2015, 7 representatives of the HCA Vanadzor took part in the first EHRAC specialized webinar: Protecting Women’s Human Rights.
The webinar aimed to enable participants to learn more about additional mechanisms for protecting women’s human rights at the international level.
