Artur Sakunts: “I look forward to courts apologizing to the RA citizens.”
18:10, June 11, 2018 | News, Other newsI still look forward to a judge of a first instance court, a court of appeal or a court of cassation on civil, administrative or criminal cases or a judge of a constitutional court apologizing publicly.
I look forward to a judge or judges apologizing to citizens of the RA and publicly acknowledging and declaring about having rendered an unjust, unlawful and ungrounded decision on at least one case.
I look forward to them apologizing for the decisions which were rendered as instructed or forced by the executive authority, the Chief of the Prosecutor’s Office, the Chairman of the Court of Cassation or the Head of the NSS (National Security Service) or the Police, for the decisions which were rendered in violation of the human rights of citizens of the RA, the decisions due to which citizens of the RA were unlawfully put into custody, due to which citizens of the RA were deprived of property or their homes or had to emigrate, or were deprived of freedom.
Dear judges, take a step and show us at least an example, or rather a number of examples of personal courage to acknowledge your own mistakes.
Maybe you personally have not made a mistake but kept silent about your colleague’s conduct of that kind. Do not avoid acknowledging your own mistakes.
On the contrary, by doing so, you will have taken your step aimed at restoring public trust in justice in the RA.
Be certain, who else, if not you, knows how decisive and vital the trust of society and citizens in the judiciary is in the establishment of a lawful state?
We look forward to your step.
