Court made a ruling on the case of Khudoyans
15:37, May 26, 2015 | News, Own newsOn May 22, 2015, the RA Administrative Court, presided by judge G. Sosyan, announced its ruling on the case upon the claim of couple Ashot Khudoyan and Heghine Makaryan against the RA Police. Guided by Articles 60, 124, 125, 127 and 132 of the RA Administrative Procedure Code, the Court ruled to dismiss the claim of A. Khudoyan and H. Makaryan against the RA Police to consider the actions of the police officers unlawful. By this ruling, the Court found that the case failed to establish the facts that the police officers violated A. Khudoyan and H. Makaryan rights to freedom of assembly and freedom of movement and the liberty and security of person of A. Khudoyan, and that the RA Police officers showed degrading treatment to the plaintiffs. Thus, the Court found the claim to be unfounded and that it should be rejected, since the actions of the RA police officers complied with the requirements of the RA Law on the Police and there were no legal grounds to consider them unlawful. The court ruling on rejecting the requirement to consider the police actions unlawful will be appealed in due terms before the RA Administrative Court of Appeal. Note that at the dawn of December 2, 2013, A. Khudoyan and H. Makaryan were forcibly removed by a number of police officers due to the official visit of the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin from the area in front of the RA President’s Office, where they had started a sit-in since November 28. Then they spent almost a day under the supervision of police officers and were unable to leave their apartment.
