Summary of inquiries regarding the RA’s membership to the Customs Union, October 1 -5, 2013
13:36, October 9, 2013 | NewsThroughout October 1-5, 2013 in response to the inquiry regarding the Customs Union, Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor received 7 replies.
2 MPs from “Republican” faction, 3 from “Prosperous Armenia” and 2 deputies from “Orinats Yerkir” faction replied to the inquiry this week.
6 out of all MPs expressed clearly positive disposition regarding the membership of the Republic of Armenia to the Customs Union and only Samvel Nikoyan preferred the Associaton Agreement, but found Serzh Sargsyan’s disposition decisive.
Summarizing all of the replies received until present, we found that:
16 MPs were for the membership to the Customs Union, 11 out of which were from “Republican” faction, 3 from “Prosperous Armenia” and 2 deputies from “Orinats Yerkir” faction.
4 MPs were against the Ra’s membership, 2 deputies from “Heritage” and 1 from “Prosperous Armenia” factions. Khachatur Qoqobelyan, Chairman of Free Democrats party was also among those who were against it.
2 deputies from “Prosperous Armenia” faction Vahan Babayan and Tigran Urikhanyan refrained from expressing a disposition.
Ambiguous answers were given by “Republican” Margarit Yesayan and PM Rubik Hakobyan from “Heritage” faction.
