The Roads to Yerevan are Closed Again

On May 1, 2009 people are not able to go to Yerevan from Lori region. The mini-buses from Vanadzor to Yerevan and Spitak to Yerevan do not work.
The monitoring conducted by the employees of HCA Vanadzor at the stations revealed that they had received an order from the authorities. According to it, the mini-buses driving from Vanadzor to Yerevan and from Spitak to Yerevan won’t work until 16:00 according to early information.
To the question why the buses do not drive to Yerevan it was answered: “People are not allowed to go to Yerevan because of the demonstration.”
The eyewitnesses say that the authorities create obstacles for people to participate in the meeting organized for May 1, thus violating their right to free movement.
