Due to incomplete medical examination administered by Gyumri military commissariat the onset of conscript’s cancer remained unrevealed
08:13, January 13, 2014 | News, Own news | Right to Fair Trial, Rights of Soldiers/Recruits | Armed ForcesOn November 25, 2013 Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor office sent a report on crime to the RA Prosecutor General informing that in 2012 the pre-conscription committee in Gyumri military commissariat displayed negligence and by administering improper medical examination conscripted Ruben Nersisyan to obligatory military service on June 25, 2012.
During military service Ruben Nersisyan developed malignant tumor, due to which, on October 23, 2012 by the decision of the central military medical committee, R. Nersisyan was recognized as unfit for military service and was demobilized. R. Nersisyan had undergone a surgery prior to the detection of the cancer, and he underwent the second one after the its detection.
Based on the report of HCA Vanadzor, materials were compiled and the RA MoD Investigative Department of Especially Important Cases SIC investigator A. Zhamkochyan reached a decision to file a criminal case under Part 2, Article 376 of the RA criminal Code, to take the case into proceedings and conduct a preliminary investigation.
