Soldier’s mother alerts: “My son spent 10 months of his service in military hospital” (Video)
17:58, September 14, 2016 | News, Own news | Rights of Soldiers/Recruits | Armed ForcesDespite his health problems, serviceman Razmik Petrosyan was drafted to the army in July 2015. A few days after the service, his mother Margarita Ananyan turned to HCA Vanadzor to protect her son’s rights saying that he was unable to wear military boots due to the swellings, corns and pain in his feet. The parent was informed that even though surgery might be the only solution, it might fail.
The Organization has applied for many times to the RA Ministry of Defense to review the issue of his fitness for military service and granting him a draft for treatment if necessary but in vain. R. Petrosyan’s service was organized first in slippers and then in special adapted shoes which was illegal, according to HCA Vanadzor lawyer Arayik Zalyan.
According to the information provided by his mother, because of his service in slippers R. Petrosyan also caught pneumonia.
M. Ananyan says that during the 10 months of his service, her son was taken to the military hospital for several times, but his health problem did not disappear; due to the swellings and corns on his feet, he is unable to wear neither military boots, nor special shoes. After wearing boots, open wounds immediately appear on his feet.
M. Ananyan finds that her son was drafted to military service in this state due to the arbitrariness of the Chairman of the Central Military and Medical Commission session.
