The defendants in the case of inciting soldier G. Khachatryan’s suicide did not show up in court

Voskanyan did not show up at the General Jurisdiction Court of Syunik Province for the hearing on the case of inciting soldier Gevorg Khachatran’s suicide.
The defenders were not present either.
Before the court session, Border Forces of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia informed that defendant H. Muradyan’s presence was not ensured as they had not received the summons.
The presiding judge informed that the summons had been sent to the address of the military unit. However, it had been sent back with an unknown mark.
Due to the defendant’s absence, the hearing of the case was adjourned and scheduled for 9.30 am on December 22, 2017.
It should be reminded that a charge was brought against Captain Mher Voskanyan, the head of the security post, (under Part 2 of Article 364.1, Part 1 of Article 375 and Part 2 of Article 360 of the RA Criminal Code), Non-commissioned Officer Hovik Kalashyan, the major of the post (under Part 1 of Article 364.1 and Part 1 of Article 375 of the RA Criminal Code) as well as Harutyun Muradyan, a conscript soldier (under Part 2 Point 2 of Article 359, Part 1 of Article 364.1 on two episodes and Part 3 of Article 359 of the RA Criminal Code).
The interests of Gevorg Khachatryan’s legal successor are presented by HCA Vanadzor Chairperson Artur Sakunts and lawyer at HCA Vanadzor Representative Office in Yerevan Tatevik Siradeghyan.
The witnesses and the defendants were questioned at the previous court sessions. The defendants insisted that the prosecutor had given them directions during the preliminary investigation.
