HCA Vanadzor condemns illegal actions of Vanadzor police
17:43, December 10, 2016 | Announcements, OwnHuman rights are violated on Human Rights Day as well…
Today, on the Human Rights Day, various people from Vanadzor signaled HCA Vanadzor that police officers summoned them for various invented pretexts and in many cases even apprehended them to police stations, urging them to refrain from attending and taking part in the Human Rights Day march in Yerevan.
The persons who signaled HCA Vanadzor and were summoned to the police are probably included in the special lists of the police and “registered” as active participants of various protests and rallies.
By its illegal actions, the police violates on the International Human Rights Day the citizens’ rights to freedom of movement, freedom of assembly, marches and demonstrations and freedom of speech.
HCA Vanadzor strongly condemns such police practices, urges to immediately stop the undue interference with people’s rights and requires that the RA Prosecutor General’s Office and SIS initiate criminal proceedings and hold liable the police officers responsible for the violations.
At the same time, we urge the persons summoned or apprehended to police stations to submit crime reports. Do protect your rights.
