Trainings on awareness increase of recruits and servicemen launched in the cities of the RA Lori region
16:22, June 22, 2013 | News | Rights of Soldiers/Recruits | Armed ForcesOn June 17, 18 of 2013 seminar-trainings targeted at awareness increase of recruits and future servicemen regarding their rights and responsibilities during conscription and military service were held by HCA Vanadzor in Vanadzor and Spitak cities of Lori region.
The recruits and their family members from Vanadzor and Spitak as well as from the villages nearby partook in the trainings along with participants who intended to be enrolled as contract servicemen in the Armed Forces. Andreas Sampson, representative of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE / ODIHR) also was partaking in the training.
The provisions of legal acts regulating conscription and military service, namely, the rights and responsibilities reserved during registration of draftees and servicemen, their exemption from military service, granting of deferments and making complaints during military service, providing incentives, fines and vacations were comprehensively presented to the participants during the training course.
Besides, during the training sessions the participants had a chance to get answers to the questions of their concerns.
The training participants were provided with materials and legal leaflet drafted by HCA Vanadzor, which will allow the recruits, servicemen and their family members to have accessible information on the rights and responsibilities of recruits and servicemen.
The next upcoming two training-seminars are scheduled on June 27, 29, 2013 to be held in Alaverdi and Stepanavan cities.
The training-seminars are being conducted within the frames of “Awareness Raising and Involvement of Recruits and Servicemen in the Protection of their own rights” project implemented by HCA Vanadzor in April-August period via the financial support of OSCE / ODIHR.
