World Psychiatric Association Regional Conference
00:00, April 20, 2011 | News | Rights of Patients | Drug usersDuring April 14-17of 2011, the regional conference of the World Psychiatric Association was held at the Armenia Marriot Hotel in Yerevan.
427 members from 37 countries participated in the conference including: the WPA Executive Committee personnel, representatives from Asian Federation of Psychiatric Associations, World Association for Social Psychiatry, World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Psychiatric Association Presidents, deputy presidents and secretaries from 14 countries. Artur Sakunts, Head of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor also participated in the conference.
Various issues relating to contemporary medicine were discussed during the conference.
Reports were presented regarding: psychiatry, drug abuse, internet dependence, and methods of alternative treatment. Human right activist, Artur Sakunts, presented the human rights monitoring results conducted by Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor at 8 RA Neuro-psychological medical institutions in 2009.
