31 cases with death outcome were recorded in the RA Armed Forces during 2013

According to the conducted studies, 31 death cases were recorded in 2013, 5 out of which occurred due to violation of ceasefire regime, 8 were triggered by suicide or causing someone to commit a suicide, 7 due to accidents, 4 due to health issues and provision of improper medical care, 4 were caused by murders, 1 out of which was premeditated murder, 1 was caused by violation of combat service rules, 2 due to violation of statutory relations, and 3 were as a result of violation gun handling rules.
According to the official data, criminal cases have been lodged in relation 26 cases, 1 criminal case was sent to relevant body under subordination procedure, while filing of the criminal case over three cases was declined.
The proceedings of 4 criminal cases were terminated in the future, the proceedings of 2 were suspended, 2 cases were sent to the Court, 4 criminal cases are undergoing court trial phase, 1 case was sent to relevant body under subordination procedure. 13 out of the lodged criminal cases are in the preliminary investigation stage.
According to official data, no investigation was conducted at any of the divisions of the RA MoD Investigative Service over one of the aforementioned cases due to lack of such a precedent. 8 out of the criminal cases were initiated under Part 1, Article 110 of the RA Criminal Code on deliberately or negligently causing somebody to commit a suicide or a suicide attempt through threat, brutal treatment or regularly degrading dignity, 2 were lodged under Part 2 of Article 376 of the RA Criminal Code on careless attitude to service by an official, which negligently leaded to grave consequences, 1 under Part 3 of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code on breach of traffic rules and operation of means of transportation by the driver of a car or other mechanical means of transportation, which negligently caused death of two or more people, 2 under Part 1 of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code on murder illegal willful deprivation of one’s life, 2 were /death cases triggered by violation of ceasefire regime/ under Paragraph 13 Part 2 of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code on murder out of the motives of national, race or religious hate or fanatism, 1 case / death case triggered by violation of ceasefire regime/ under Paragraph 13 Part 2 of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code on murder out of the motives of national, race or religious hate or fanatism and under Paragraphs 1 and 13 of Part 1 of Articles 34-104 of the RA Criminal Code, 1 criminal case was filed with the features of murder committed in a manner dangerous for the lives of many people, 3 cases under Paragraphs 6 and 13 of Part 2 of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code, 3 under Part 3 of Article 373 of the RA Criminal Code on breach of rules of handing over weapons, ammunition, other military property, radioactive materials, explosives as well as materials or items dangerous for the environment to others, which negligently caused human death, 1 case under Part 3 of Article 365 of the RA Criminal Code on violation of combat duty or combat service rules which caused grave consequences, 2 cases were lodged under Part 2 of Article 377 of the RA Criminal Code on breach of rules for driving or operating vehicles. The article of the criminal case is indicated neither in the press, nor in any official source over one of the death cases.
22 out of the death cases occurred in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, whereas, 9 of them took place in the NKR.
