2 Appeals were filed on case of Hayk Kaleyan deceased in the RA armed forces

Darbinyan started hearings of the appeals against the verdict on the case of conscript soldier Hayk Kaleyan deceased at the Defense Army military unit № 35383, filed by the representative of the victim’s successor, Artur Sakunts, and the defendant Santur Dombryan’s advocate, Arkadi Israyelyan.
The trial was attended by the defendant Santur Dombryan, his advocate A. Israyelyan and the representative of the victim’s successor Artur Sakunts. Other defendants were absent due to military exercises and the prosecuting party – due to their employment.
At the trial, the court announced the judicial act of the first instance court of general jurisdiction of RA Syunik region and the appeals against it. S. Dombryan’s advocate requested in his appeal to replace the 3 charges brought against S. Dombryan under Article 359 of the RA Criminal Code by those under Article 360 and to impose a more lenient punishment. The representative of the victim’s successor, Artur Sakunts, requested to reverse the verdict of the first instance court and submit the case for reconsideration to a lower court.
In response to the appeals submitted, the prosecutor’s office of the garrison № 1 under the RA Military Prosecutor’s Office found that the judicial act was lawful and the appeals were subject to dismissal.
The parties of the trial considered necessary the presence of the prosecuting party, and the presiding judge Y. Darbinyan upheld the motions and delayed the court hearing to ensure their presence.
The next hearing on this case was appointed at 2 p.m., April 28, 2014.
