15:59, July 1, 2015 | News, Own newsThe TV show covered the human rights situation of persons with mental health problems and drug users in Armenia and public attitude to such vulnerable groups. The experience of the Organization in protecting the rights of persons with mental health problems and drug users revealed numerous issues, and the Organization’s actions to protect the rights of the persons above aim to identify and solve such issues.
In particular, the Organization conducts various monitoring activities and surveys, provides legal aid and holds relevant press conferences, meetings, etc.
Based on its surveys, the Organization submits to competent authorities proposals for legislative and legal practice reforms. The TV show aims to promote the increased awareness of the residents of Gegharkunik and Kotayk marzes (regions) of the human rights situation of persons with mental health problems and drug users through presenting the current issues and legal mechanisms for protection of rights and restoration of the violated rights.
The TV show was held with the financial support of the Open Society Foundations – Armenia under the HCA Vanadzor Stability in Light of Democracy and Human Rights Challenges in the RA Project.
