More and More Alerts on Electoral Violations Come up
17:54, December 5, 2015 | News, Own news | Electoral RightsHCA Vanadzor receives new alerts from various settlements in Lori Marz (Region).
As we learnt from an alert of a person from Stepanavan town who wished to remain anonymous, the staff of the kindergarten (kindergarten near the Canyon) serving as a polling station were instructed to vote “yes”, take picture of their ballot and later show it to the person who issued such instruction. The person above argued that the other state institutions in the town also indirectly urged people to vote “yes”, noting that it was the Prime Minister’s personal request to the employees.”
Another person informed us on phone that the Head of Geghasar village in Spitak area gave each village inhabitant election bribe of 8000 AMD and also promised to resolve their benefits issues if they voted “yes”.
At polling station № 30/6 in Vanadzor, some persons tried to bribe the chairperson of the electoral commission so that the latter turned a blind eye to voting instead of the citizens in the voters’ list who did not vote on the referendum. After the negative response of the chairperson, they decided to move the names of such voters into the voters’ list of nearby polling station № 30/10; the reviewed voters’ lists come to show that after the review, the number of voters at the former polling station declined, while that in the latter increased.
