After March 1, 2008 the acts of violence committed by the police have been noteworthy for their particular cruelty and such violence targeted the inhabitants of Sari Tagh district of Yerevan city, regardless of their age and sex. Children and women also suffered violence.

The Republic of Armenia, in its capacity of a member state of the Council of Europe, the United Nations and the OSCE, fulfilled none of its human rights commitments.
