An animated video on the influence of mass media on the lives of people using drugs

Since 2011 Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor has been monitoring the materials published through the mass media in the Republic of Armenia, collecting and analyzing information on the drug users, the illegal circulation of drugs and drugs in general.
The majority of the mass media materials on the people using drugs present the use of drugs merely as a criminal activity, usually disregarding and not focusing on the more essential health aspect.
This approach leads to the formation and strengthening of a negative stereotypical attitude towards drug users, which, in its turn, creates a groundless conviction and wish to isolate these people rather than offer them help.
The influence of mass media on the lives of people using drugs is presented in the form of an animated video.
