21:03, June 2, 2016 | News, Own news | Right to Life, Rights of Patients | Karine HovhannisyanOn June 2, 2016, the General Jurisdiction Court of Armavir marz (region) announced its judgment on the case of Anahit Petrosyan, Head of Infectious Diseases Unit at Armavir Medical Center, charged with the death of young Karine Hovhannisyan and Erik Amirkhanyan. By its judgment, the Court found her guilty for committing an act under Article 130(2) (Failure to implement or improper implementation of professional duties by medical and support personnel which caused through negligence the patient’s death) of the RA Criminal Code, imposed a sentence of 2-year imprisonment for each child and then added the terms above partially and imposed the final sentence of 3-year imprisonment by depriving A. Petrosyan of the right to engage with professional activities for a period of 1 year and 6 months.
