The judge felt ill; court hearing on protestor’s case was not held
09:40, March 28, 2017 | News, Own news | Freedom of Assembly and AssociationOn March 27, 2017, the RA Administrative Court had a scheduled examination of RA Police claim against Vahram Petrosyan, who attended the assembly before examination of the motion on extending Gevorg Safaryan’s detention on March 23, 2016. By its claim, the Police demanded that administrative sanctions were imposed on Vahram Petrosyan under Article 180.1(11 and 15) of the RA Code of Administrative Offenses.
The pre-trial court hearing was not held as the presiding judge felt ill.
The parties will be notified of the date and time of the next court hearing.
Note that the assembly participants were apprehended by force and taken to Kentron Division of RA Police Yerevan City Department where they underwent administrative proceedings based on failure by assembly participants to fulfill their duties and obey the legal orders of the police to ensure peaceful and normal course of the assembly. By its claim submitted to the court later, the RA Police demanded to impose on V. Petrosyan administrative sanctions under Article 180.1(11 and 15) of the RA Code of Administrative Offenses.
