Court judgment on doctor Anahit Petrosyan charged with the death of 2 children took effect
10:33, April 28, 2017 | News, Own news | Right to Life, Rights of Patients | Karine HovhannisyanThe court judgment on Anahit Petrosyan, Head of the Infectious Diseases Unit of Armavir Medical Center, charged with the death of young Karine Hovhannisyan and Erik Amirkhanyan, under which she was found guilty of committing an action under Article 130(2) /failure to fulfill or properly fulfill professional duties by medical care and service personnel, which caused through negligence the patient’s death/ of the RA Criminal Code and sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment and deprived of the right to practice professional activities for a term of 1 year and 6 months took effect.
According to HCA Vanadzor lawyer Ani Chatinyan, representative of Karine Hovyannisyan’s successor, a few days ago the convicted doctor was transferred to ‘Abovyan’ penitentiary facilities.
Note that by its judgment following the appeals of the parties, the RA Court of Appeals upheld the judgment of the General Jurisdiction Court of Armavir marz (region) of June 2, 2016 and the RA Cassation Court did not accept the appeals.
