12:22, May 25, 2018 | News, Own newsYesterday, a court hearing was set to be held in connection with the case of Sari Tagh protesters Hrachya Boyajyan, Arman Adamyan and Zhora Avetisyan at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan yesterday, on May 24, 2018.
The motion filed by Hrachya Boyajyan’s defender Arayik Zalyan, advocate at HCA Vanadzor, was supposed to be discussed during the court hearing. The motion was on changing the preventive measure and using bail in the amount of 1,000,000 AMD as an alternative preventive measure.
The public defenders of the other defendants, however, did not show up, and the hearing was adjourned. This was not the only case during the 1.5-year proceedings.
Due to the public defenders not showing up at the court, the court hearings on the case of Sari Tagh protesters were adjourned multiple times. The defendants remain in custody.
Besides this, the case proceedings were interrupted on the basis of Judge Artur Ohanyan being dismissed, which presupposes that the proceedings shall be recommenced and may last for more than a year.
The next court hearing is to be held on June 26, 2018.
