The goal of the event was to organize fun leisure time for Vanadzor residents, for a few hours take them away from everyday problems, provide pleasant moments to children, promote respect towards human rights and each other as well as humanitarian treatment.
The open-air museum functioned at the event during which the works of Vanadzor Art school children and those of students of Vanadzor special (subsidiary) school №1 for mentally retarded children were presented along with the photos of “Forced migration – refugees in Armenia” exhibition.
Various recreational programs were organized during the festival, which kept Vanadzor Sayat Nova central park overcrowded throughout 14:00p.m.-21:00p.m.
The event was launched with a chalk drawing contest. Later the event was accompanied by a theatre performance where the students of Vanadzor Children’s Care and Protection Boarding School N 1 and “Orran” NGO partook. Thus, HCA Vanadzor aimed to create an opportunity for the children to be one step closer to the art of theatre as well as establish new contacts.
Through the support of a professional performance director, the children prepared for the theatre act within a week and staged a performance based on the motives of “Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors” fairytale. The Vanadzor residents had a chance to enjoy the performances of “Lilen” dance ensemble and during their recesses already small actors turned the park into a dance-ground with their energizing performances.
After the dancing performances, favorite cartoon heroes Masha and the Bear added to the happiness of the children and also the grown-ups.
As it turned out the “face painting” pavilion was the most popular amongst all, where children got fairytale images like pussycats, fox, butterfly and etc.
The children and teenagers could try themselves in intellectual and sports games during the event. During all of the contests the most active participants were awarded with prizes and letters of appreciation.
