Works to improve the Human Rights Park in Taron-4 District of Vanadzor continue
19:28, September 1, 2016 | News, Own newsStarting from 2011, there is a Human Rights Park in Taron-4 district of Vanadzor opened by the initiative of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor.
In 2016, Birthright Armenia expressed its willingness to help with the works carried out in the Park. Over a dozen of volunteers living and volunteering in summer months for a number of NGOs in Vanadzor also joined the improvement works of the Human Rights Park.
Young people, who arrived to their homeland from different parts of the world, joined with a great enthusiasm the improvement works of the Park supported by Birthright Armenia and gave importance to their participation in setting up an entertainment venue for the children in a suburban district of the town. In their interviews, they also mentioned having had a similar experience before.
The young people took part in repairing the fence of the Park, improvement of the area and decoration of the wall. The children from the district also helped them.
The improvement works in the Human Rights Park are to be continued and it is planned to further carry on constructing and improving various parts of the Park, placing thematic benches and planting trees to make the area more improved and arrange more green spaces.
