16:43, July 10, 2015 | News, Own newsOn July 8, 2015, the HCA Vanadzor submitted a crime report to the RA Special Investigation Service to initiate criminal proceedings on the actions of the RA Police officers towards Yelena Ovsyannikova. On June 23-24, 2015, as Yelena Ovsyannikova participated in the electricity rate hike protest, Hunan Poghosyan, Deputy Chief of the RA Police, came out from behind the police cordon and demanded that Y. Ovsyannikova left the area noting that all their police officers were horny /preoccupied with sex/, and she walked in front of them and obstructed their work. A bit later, a few men came up to Y. Ovsyannikova, one of them roughly seized her hand and started to pull her to and fro. Unable to endure the pressure any longer, Y. Ovsyannikova had to leave the area between the police cordon and the “barricades”.
After the incident, various mass media posted on their websites and social networks various publications about Y. Ovsyannikova. Narek Malyan, Advisor to the RA Chief of Police, posted on his Facebook page a video showing Y. Ovsyannikova talking to deputy T. Poghosyan, with comments that she was a Ukrainian provocateur. Also, N. Malyan argued that Y. Ovsyannikova offered sex to all the police officers on Baghramyan Avenue. Based on the facts in the application of Y. Ovsyannikova’s husband Harutyun Muradyan, the HCA Vanadzor filed a crime report to the RA Special Investigation Service to initiate criminal proceedings on the actions by the police officers, hold liable those responsible for the offense and restore Yelena Ovsyannikova’s violated rights.
