HCA Vanadzor presented 2 reports at Conference entitled ‘Healthcare and Human Rights’

Sakunts, Chairman of HCA Vanadzor, and Ani Chatinyan, lawyer at HCA Vanadzor, presented reports on ‘Challenges in mental health sector in terms of ensuring health rights of persons with mental health problems’ and ‘Violations of persons’ right to health in terms of provision of medical services: examples of criminal justice’, respectively.
The first report referred to the domestic and international legal acts regulating this sector, as well as a number of problematic issues on placing a person at psychiatric facilities and organizing their further treatment and care there, and ensuring the legal protection of the persons placed at psychiatric facilities.
The report on ‘Violations of persons’ right to health in terms of provision of medical services: examples of criminal justice’ referred to the violations of the right to life due to failure to provide proper medical care and services and the issues identified in the criminal justice under their investigation.
In this context, individual cases processed by the Organization are presented.
