Օn third court hearing of Avetisyans family murder case
13:39, January 23, 2016 | Press Release | Avetisyan familyOn January 22, 2016, the General Jurisdiction Court of Shirak Marz (Region), presided by judge H. Movsesyan, held the third outgoing hearing on the Avetisyans family murder case on the territory of the Russian military base № 102.
The hearing began 30 minutes later than scheduled.
The hearing of January 22, 2016 was not attended by Yerem Sargsyan and Yervand Varosyan, representatives of the victims’ successors.
At the beginning of the hearing, Lusine Sahakyan, representative of the victims’ successor, motioned to attach to the criminal case under examination the entire criminal case files, including those of the investigation carried out by the Russian side. The parties to the trial supported the motion above. By supporting the motion, A. Sakunts, representative of the victims’ successor, noted that along with the murder of Avetisyans family, Permyakov was also accused by the Russian side of illegal withdrawal of his weapon and leaving his combat duty place. The answer to the question why Permyakov had left the territory of the military base with his weapon directly related to the murder of Avetisyans family.
The Court decided to postpone consideration of the motion, and this caused discontent among the parties to the trial. Chairman of HCA Vanadzor A. Sakunts, representative of the victims’ successor, made a statement mentioning that by such a behavior the judge acted as a party to the trial and his decisions did not proceed from the interests of the trial participants.
The representatives of the victims’ successors stated that in such conditions, it was impossible to build up a complete picture of the crime in question.
Prosecutor G. Gevorgyan announced the indictment. Accused V. Permyakov admitted the charges against him.
The Court passed to the questioning of the witnesses involved in the case.
Lusine Sahakyan, representative of the victims’ successor, filed a motion to the Court requiring that the witness statements were not broadcast live. None of the parties to the trial objected to the motion, and the Court granted it.
At the court hearing, Rita Petrosyan and Andranik Poghosyan, witnesses of the affected party, provided testimony.
In her testimony, Rita Petrosyan stated that as she called at Avetisyans’ place at about 12 pm, she did not come across any of their neighbors near the house. She found it strange since before they used to be more active and walk back and forth at that time of the day.
Another issue of concern should be mentioned, namely that none of the neighbors heard the gunshots.
The other witnesses involved in the case were unable to attend the questioning due to poor health.
The court hearing was adjourned.
The next outgoing hearing of Avetisyans murder case of the General Jurisdiction Court of Shirak Marz (Region) is scheduled for January 29, 2016, at 12 pm.
