Life prisoner with health problems not provided with medicines: he went on hunger strike

His brother Husik Marukyan signaled this by consulting HCA Vanadzor.
According to him, due to the damp prison conditions V. Marukyan developed serious health problems and has received treatment at the Convicts’ Hospital in the recent 3-4 years, lives on medicines and has a disability of 3rd degree.
According to Husik Marukyan, after discharge from the Convicts’ Hospital on October 13 by the decision of the Working Medical Commission his brother received no medicines and is still on the hunger strike he started in protest to this situation.
Considering the state’s responsibility for ensuring the protection of life, physical integrity and health of the person under its jurisdiction, on October 26, 2016 HCA Vanadzor filed a letter with the RA Ministry of Justice on taking measures to protect Vahagn Marukyan’s rights.
